8 Most Popular Blog Ideas/Niches - Pros/Cons

Okay these are the most popular ones with their pros and cons

1. A personal blog
Pros - freedom of speech, owner enjoys it.
Cons - broad, need to have real interesting content to keep readers drawn in.
2. Movie reviewing blog
Pros - if you keep writing really good reviews, and market well, readers may keep coming back.
Cons - there are many established ones out there. You need to know your movies really well, and the relevant news before others get the word out.
3. Product review blog
Pros - If you normally shop a lot or buy a lot of electronics, you might be able to rant about your belongs/review them.
Cons - If you don't know what you're talking about while you're reviewing different products you will fail. products to keep it going and to sound like you
4. Tech
Pros - If you enjoy it, I don't see why not.
Cons - need to be in the know though. Also pretty competitive.
5. Sports
Pros - specific mainstream spots might get large traffic depending on how popular the sport is and how you market it.
Cons - when the season is over, you might have limited content.
6. Poker, or gambling blog.
Pros - I've read a few popular ones, and there are massive forums for this. Wouldn't be hard to promote a blog since your audience is in the one bag.
Cons - Requires an in-depth knowledge. You can't make a poker blog if you suck at it. The people who have successful gambling blogs are the ones who already make money from it.
7. Blog on TV series.
Pros - Similar to a movie review blog, but you gotta' know the gossip especially for these types of blogs. Also it's better to start out when the series just came out on TV. If you enjoy watching TV series, this would be a pretty good blog idea.
8. Talk about blogs. A blog about blogs... There are many blogs that talk about blogs. lol enough said.

Hope you enjoyed Pros and Cons of the 8 more popular Blog Ideas

10 ways to make money online

Sick of your boring ass day job?

Many people are making a killing online and here’s how they do it.

  1. Advertising revenue. Popular websites or blogs that have high amounts of traffic can make a few hundred dollars per day through advertisement. These sites/blogs usually have interesting content that helps them have regular readership. Adsense is the most common way for websites to make money. They make money every time someone clicks on an ad. It’s around 30 cents or so per click and some sites have 100,000s of people viewing their site per week. Affiliate programs such as www.amazon.com are another form of advertising and can give website and blog owners a lot of revenue. It works on commission and you get 15% of the products that are sold through your website/blog. If you want to make a blog, read a step by step guide on www.ten-ways.blogspot.com.
  2. Selling products on Ebay.com. Some people who are successful at this make millions per year. They get their cheap products from buying bulk at wholesale prices and sell them on Ebay.com for more. These are usually the people who have been in the business for a while and are making a substantial amount of money. Others hunt for bargains and then resell them straight away for a marginal profit.
  3. Offer advice/your services as a professional. Writers can make money by charging customers to write their essays/resumes or poetry. People who are good at marketing products charge hundreds of dollars to give advice to people who wish to promote their website.
  4. Freelance writing. Sites such as www.triond.com and www.associatedcontent.com pay you to write articles on just about anything. You can get paid up to 20 dollars or so upfront and a few dollars per thousand views. Thousands of dollars can be made from this as some articles get 100,000's of views, but sites like these usually favor the better writers as they have already have a stream of readership and you probably won’t get that many views starting off.
  5. Youtube Sponsors. If you are good at making videos and your videos on youtube.com have tens of thousands of views, then making money from this wouldn’t be a bad idea. Youtube sponsers usually make money from Adsense ads inside the video.
  6. Gambling/playing poker online. There are many professional poker players and people who bet on basically anything. Some people do this for a living and make $400,000 per year, untaxed if you live outside the states. By betting on overlays, where there is value in the bet, and in theory you win in the long run and some people make big money doing this everything. I have played online before with my brother and we won some tournaments on Pokerstars.com and Fulltilt.com. Overall we are up $5000 USD.
  7. Review programs. Sites such as http://www.softwarejudge.com/ pay reviewers up to $50 per review. I said “up to” because that usually isn’t the case but on this site you still make a buck or two if your review doesn’t sound like it’s been written by someone with turrets. They want tell it as it is reviews and they check whether it’s been written before by checking search engines.
  8. Naming domain names. Sites such as http://www.pickydomains.com/ pay you to come up with creative names for people/companies that either have bad domain names or just want one that people can remember for a website that they’re making.
  9. Making a business online. A lot of people are creating online shops which sell products and also make money while putting ads in their online stores. These businesses also have fewer expenses as they don’t have to pay rent except maybe for webhosting which usually costs less than $10 a month.
  10. Surveys. If you wish to try this method, well that’s fine. There are many scams out there so be careful to not waste your time and efforts. That said, there probably are legit sites with legit payouts if thoroughly researched.

So these are the general ideas of how people make money online, now use them and learn more about them and over time if you’ve put in the effort you will reap the rewards. For further information contact me @ felixt_07@hotmail.com

10 easy steps to blogging

This is how you get started in the world of blogging and I have done some research and come up with a list of 10 things to do when considering starting a blog:

1. Motivation. What motivates you? Ask yourself that. If it’s money, to voice your thoughts or to input to society, whatever it is, use that motivation to motivate yourself to start your blogging journey. When you start blogging, you don’t want to be on and off which is why this motivation is important.

2. Niche/Topic. Now you have to think of a topic to start writing about, it can be broad or specific but it has to be one OF INTEREST TO YOU (very important). Some blogs are very specific and some are not… like mine. Either way they both can be successful. There are blogs on just about everything, my advice look around first, see what catches your attention.

3. Your blog/website. After finding your motivation, you must figure out where you will start your blog. In my opinion the easiest way for a beginner is to start on blogger.com (which is what I use) or wordpress.com since it is implied that you haven’t started blogging and those two blogging platforms are very easy to use. You don't need your own domain because it costs you money and you are just a beginner. You need to start walking before you start running, well you need to start blogging before you start pro-blogging... if you catch my drift ^^

4. Name your site. Come up with a clever name for your blog (preferably), don’t put too much time and effort into this because in blogger.com you can change it. You can also change the URL, surprisingly.

5. Submit your site to search engine. Do it through this site http://www.submitexpress.com/ because it’s probably the most convenient. The reason this is step number 5 is because it takes some time for these submissions to be actually recognized by spiders even though they're submitted.

6. Forums. Check forums such as bloggingforum.com (this is my favourite one) for tips, advice and ideas and also do further research occasionally to find out interesting information that can help. Check out other ones if you want such as problogging.com, bloggeries.com, there are ple

7. RSS. Turn on RSS, the acronym doesn’t matter. Be sure to select the RSS option to set up a Web feed when you're configuring your blog. (This may also be referred to as a subscription option.) Make it available for readers to utilize it. By the way if you don't know how to do this, ask in forums or go to the help section in your blogging site. These are some useful sites (this has info on RSS) http://www.techsoup.org/learningcenter/internet/archives/page9194.cfm (feedburner to send your feed to) Feedburner.com

8. Content. Start posting good content. Remember, content is king, and then is promotion. For your first post, introduce yourself, your intentions, reasons, etc for starting this blog.

9. Appearance and revenue. This is to make money Okay, now that you’ve written a few articles (around 3 or 4 ish), pretty up your blog a bit, add some ads, Adsense is what I use and what most people use, go to Adsense.com register, then add it to areas which are accessed the most (top-ish areas, side bar, in between posts). Add some pictures and voila you most likely have a half decent blog. NOTE: Don't click on ads in your website, you will get banned! Btw, if your topic is on movies, type movie affiliate programs on google, you might find alternative advertising programs for your niche this way.

10. Promotion. Now that your blogs half decent, it’s time to promote your blog. Go to blogging forums, post threads to attract attention to your blog (also put your site in your signature and info about it). Comment on other noobies blogs (constructive feedback though, don’t spam or comment for the sake of it). Advertise your blog through social networks such as Myspace.com, Facebook.com, etc and post your BEST, yes you heard right. Post your best blog entries to sites such as Digg.com, StumbleUpon.com because if you don’t and post some dodgey crap, you might have a bad rep later on. AND also you won’t get many visitors if it isn’t good which defies the purpose.

11. Link Exchanging. Exchange links with other bloggers or websites helps to improve ranking in search engines.

By the way, don’t be discouraged if you don’t start of with many visitors, we all start off with none at some stage or another! Good luck.
